On the Mend by [archiveofourown.org profile] RandomArceus
Characters: Largo LaGrande, OCs
Rating: Teen
Words: 1374

Author's summary: You meet some people, and they each have their own theories on why you are how you are.
Author's notes: Set at least a good handful of years post-fortress explosion. Largo's older, and teeters a bit closer to 'actually thinking about his feelings and working on himself' than I tend to write him. Second-person, Largo's perspective. Done for the day 13 prompt 'forced retirement', was originally going to be for 'relapse' but began to run away from that eventually.
Author's warnings: None
Additional tags: POV Second Person, Past Trauma, largo's just not in a very good mental state, Dialogue Light

Quote:
And you did not know what to say. For ‘sad’ is not a word you’d use to describe yourself, not ever, but it is not one you can construct a suitable defence to. You did not know what to say, so you opened your mouth, and you shut it again.

Hey, Captain? by [archiveofourown.org profile] RandomArceus
Characters: Largo LaGrande, LeChuck
Rating: Teen
Words: 498

Author's summary: A brief correspondence between one Largo M. LaGrandé and G.P. LeChuck.
Author's notes: I regularly flicker between whether it would be funnier for Largo's middle name to be 'Marco' or just something completely unrelated. For the first day's prompt in the In-Universe Unusual Formats and Media Prompt Fest (bit of a mouthful, that). Workskin not required, I just like it. Feel free to disable if it fucks things up
Author's warnings: Chose Not To Use (but none)
Additional tags: Epistolary, set starting in secret and ends just a little bit into monkey2, Mentioned Character Death, mentioned guybrush & mentioned elaine, also mentioned canon-typical lechuck/elaine

My comment: [this was in reference to Largo's mention of Guybrush] ""This guy" never mind what his name is, it's not important 😂 Just some loser nobody wannabe anyway. (Although granted Largo was probably a little more focused on 1. getting stabbed and 2. the beard itself to really be listening to the answer he got to "Who do you think you are?") I just think it's funny that even with direct evidence he's still getting snubbed for the credit."

Quote:
LeChuck,

I thought you were gone forever. Now I hear you're getting married? I didn't think Elaine'd ever want you like that. And I wasn’t gonna come anyway, but it would’ve been nice, at least, if you had invited me.

Illuminated by [tumblr.com profile] ghostwritingleflay
Characters: Morgan LeFlay, LeChuck, mentions of Guybrush and Elaine
Rating: Not rated by author, but PG-13/Teen
Words: 792

Author's summary: Takes place in the AU [Guybrush saves Morgan]. Morgan is dying, of course.
Author's notes: This is really bad and it was all written after 2 am, and Elaine and LeChuck might be pretty OOC I dunno but this is what happened. It probably isn’t very coherent, so... I’ll probably re-edit and re-upload later today or this week, when I’m less tired.
Author's warnings: Death (also depictions of violence)
Additional tags: guybrush saves her only to die and morgan die in an attempt to avenge him

Quote:
His laughter - loud, deep, and commanding - filled her ears and blocked out every thought in her head. It was frightening how he sounded, almost like he was laughing at how pathetic she was for even trying to fight back. For even trying to win at all. More tears fell from her eyes as she tried to stand again. LeChuck couldn’t beat her, he couldn’t kill her here. She had to make it up to Guybrush. She had to make it even.

Spiral by [archiveofourown.org profile] RandomArceus
Characters:
Rating: Largo LaGrande, LeChuck, OCs
Words: 1700

Author's summary: Your captain kills somebody. You bear witness.
Author's notes: You can put Twine games in Ao3 now! Isn't that neat? Workskin required, obviously. Done using this tool. Originally written back in August 2025, tweaked slightly and moved over here now. If something isn't working right here, you can find a copy of the game on my site here. Largo's perspective, of course.
Author's warnings: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death
Additional tags: Interactive Fiction, Pre-Secret, Human LeChuck, oc literally only exists to get murdered, POV Second Person

My comment: "Whoa, gruesome. (I read the source code to make sure I'd seen all the text.) I hit the spot where I picked something like "No, no, I can't look at this" and the only response choice being "Yes you can", that goes back, was pretty impactful."

Quote:
Your hands, limp by your sides, shake subtly as you stare at the sight before you.
You are up above deck, and LeChuck is partaking in his favourite hobby— the brutal, bloody torture of a crew member. They're begging for forgiveness for their insulting him, and he's stabbing them anyway, because he's a prickly little bastard with a big ego. And they hurt his ego.

Business Partnership by [archiveofourown.org profile] RandomArceus
Characters: Largo LaGrande, LeChuck
Rating: Teen
Words: 873

Author's summary: Largo and LeChuck do not call themselves friends. Except for the moments when one of them does.
Author's notes: Largo-centric, because I'm me and that's what I do. Can probably also be read as shippy, because... I'm me, and that's what I do. I don't usually use platonic relationship tags, but I felt like this one needed one. Written for the February Ficlet Challenge day 6 prompt, 'Friend'. Excuse that I'm two days late. two things I find interesting to think about 1) what Largo got up to directly before/during/after Secret, and 2) whatever the hell horrible relationship these two have going on.
Author's warnings: Chose Not To Use (mentions of torture)
Additional tags: Ficlet, they have a somewhat complicated friendship, vague mentions of death, set from the very end of secret to the end of part one of monkey2

Quote:
Then again, it was unlikely that LeChuck would call anybody his friend. He was a man who had acquaintances, and he had victims, and he had obsessions, but he was not a man who kept friends. He had his crew, and that was always enough for him.

Voyage to Monkey Island by [archiveofourown.org profile] WriteyPirate
Characters: Guybrush Threepwood, Elaine Marley, LeChuck, Apple Bob, Gullet, Voodoo Lady, Stan S. Stanman, Carla, Otis, Wally B. Feed, Murray, Herman Toothrot, The pirate leaders
Rating: General
Words: 15,898

Author's summary: A self proclaimed "Mighty Pirate" finds his true worth on a voyage to save the Caribbean from the dreaded Captain LeChuck.
Author's notes: I don't usually write fan fiction, but after playing through the Monkey Island series a couple of times, I thought it would be fun to write a fan script for a "movie". It's 86 pages long; with scripts a page is roughly a minute of screen time, so it's more or less feature length.
The formatting here isn't quite what a script actually looks like, but rather than messing around with coding that I don't understand ( user astronought created a script skin ), I also foolishly went through this post line by line to manually format it. I've split the script into separate chapters to make things easier on myself, hopefully that doesn't disrupt the flow too much.
I worked on this on and off for about a year and have hopefully made something akin to a decent "first draft" of a film. I'm sure it has MANY issues, and I don't feel like the ending is great, but my main thought was that a Monkey Island movie should be FUN. I think I've at least managed that. The Monkey Island fandom gets something new maybe every ten years, so I hope you're able to enjoy my little addition out of desperation if nothing else. :)
Also, I made a little storyboard of the mouse scene: https://youtu.be/J-CWVDuJrQs
Author's warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Additional tags: Screenplay/Script Format, Adventure, Comedy

My remarks: This story combines elements from all the games into a single narrative that doesn't so much line up with established canon as remix it. It's sort of a "If you were going to make a movie out of all of Monkey Island, how might you do it?" thing.

Quote:
MONTAGE SEQUENCE accompanied by jaunty shanty music.
Guybrush is knocked through a wall by a yak wearing wax lips.
Guybrush places an engagement ring on a woman's finger, she turns to gold.
Guybrush is kung fu fighting a monkey and losing.
Guybrush is facing a horde of frail elderly pirates. They rush him and beat him up.
Guybrush is facing a horde of chickens in tiny pirate hats. They rush him and beat him up.
Guybrush is facing a horde of literal babies. He's crushed by a falling piano.
Guybrush's lifeless corpse floats face down on the surface of the sea. The shot holds for longer than is comfortable.
END OF MONTAGE SEQUENCE
Guybrush looks disturbed.
GUYBRUSH
What was that last one?

The Spectre of Monkey Island (Fan Game script) by Chris Ratcliff
Characters: Guybrush, Elaine, Wally, Voodoo Lady, Herman, Murray, LeChuck, OCs
Rating: Not rated by author; G
Words: 15,376

Author's summary: It's a rollicking inter-island saga as Guybrush once again has to defeat his arch nemesis LeChuck!
Author's notes: Some technical notes. First of all, the following is not really a design document. It's a script. A design document would include information such as the screen resolution, control system, and the number and type of verbs. No particular assumption about control system is made here. In fact, it is assumed there are no specific verbs, and that everything can be done with mouse clicks in a full screen interface. That can of course be changed.
Next, the following script does NOT use dialogue trees. I haven't yet seen them implemented well in a fan game, so have kept them out of this script. If dialogue trees are desired, the necessary changes can probably be made without much hassle.

My remarks: This is an old thing (1999) from an old version of a LucasArts fanfic site from before there was even Lucasfics on MixnMojo. This story also exists in narrative form, but I think this loose game design document is more interesting.

Quote:
SURVIVALIST
So you're a foreign looter, are you! I knew it! Have the foresight to put away a bit of gas and food and next thing the whole Caribbean's breaking down your door! There must be scores of ships converging on Cutlass Island, ready to loot! Hear that, Midge? Scores of 'em! And they're all crawling back here!

GUYBRUSH
I'M NOT A LOOTER!

SURVIVALIST
(after a pause)
...are you sure?

GUYBRUSH
YES!

SURVIVALIST
Actually, you don't look much like a looter. Shouldn't you have a flaming torch in one hand, or a rusty crowbar or something?

GUYBRUSH
I'M NOT A LOOTER!

SURVIVALIST
Okay, okay, no need to take that tone of voice.
(pulls the shotgun back from the window)
So, you're not a looter.

Pirating on Land by Chris Ratcliff
Characters: Bart, Fink, Wally, Largo
Rating: Not rated by author; PG
Words: 854

Author's summary: The Largo Embargo is causing problems for everybody.

My remarks: Another old one, from 1998.

Quote:
That was pirating. How did you transfer that to land? As far as Bart and Fink could guess, it meant robbing somebody. Common highway thievery. As pirates, Bart and Fink naturally looked down on such a scrubby activity.
